Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI)
Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI)​
We are looking for a Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI) to join our team at Starbrite.
Position Summary:
Provides safe, effective, and engaging therapeutic riding lessons for participants with a variety of needs and abilities. Works closely with program staff, volunteers, and families to ensure a supportive and empowering experience for each participant.
Principal Responsibilities:
• Plan and instruct riding lessons tailored to participant goals and abilities
• Ensure safety and well-being of participants and horses during all lessons
• Provide guidance and support to lesson volunteers, including horse handlers and sidewalkers
• Maintain accurate participant records and progress notes
• Assist with horse preparation, tack, and arena setup as needed
• Participate in ongoing training and staff meetings
• Other duties as assigned by the Program Director
Knowledge/Skill Requirements:
• Current PATH Intl. CTRI certification (preferred)
• Strong horsemanship and horse-handling skills
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
• Ability to lead and motivate volunteers
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Positive, team-oriented attitude
