Building the Vision

In 2023, we launched the Starbrite Capital Campaign, a $4 million initiative to create an all-weather riding arena and critical support facilities that would allow us to meet growing demand and eliminate the hundreds of lessons lost each year to weather and space limitations.

Today, we’re excited to share that Phase I construction is underway.

Where We Are Now

Thanks to the generosity of our community and supporters, we have raised $2.2 million to fund Phase I, which includes:

  • A state-of-the-art all-weather riding arena – ensuring year-round access to lessons regardless of rain, heat, or early sunsets.

  • An expanded barn to house a growing herd of therapy horses ready to serve more riders.

Construction began in April 2025, and these new spaces are expected to be operational by Spring 2026.

What’s Next: Phase II

While the arena and barn are essential, our riders, families, and veterans depend on additional spaces that make Starbrite the transformational place it is. Phase II will add:

  • Wellness Rooms that allow riders to complete preparatory stretches and activities, which are often necessary for our riders before they can mount a horse.

  • Family Lounge, which offers a respite to caregivers, providing a comfortable space where they can recharge while watching their rider participate in what is likely one of his or her only extracurricular activities.

  • Community Room, which will foster the peer connection and camaraderie that are vital to emotional healing, especially for our veterans.

  • Administrative Space, an area that is critical to support our team, including trainers, a veterinarian, and program staff, who deliver life-changing care to our riders and their equine partners.

Our goal is to begin Phase II construction immediately after Phase I to keep momentum and avoid additional construction-related mobilization costs.
