WHAT PARTICIPANTS SAY

“McKinley’s progress this year at Starbrite has astounded the traditional therapists that she has seen for years. The cognitive skills she has learned, as well as her physical abilities (that she has improved tremendously on), have carried over into our lives outside the barn; for that we are extremely thankful and forever indebted to Starbrite Therapeutic Riding Center.”

“The first time I came to Starbrite, just petting and hugging the horse quieted my mind and brought me peace. For me, trauma has two sides: the fact that your brain remembers, and knowing your heart is broken. Talk therapy, EMDR, medication, and micro-current feedback has helped my brain, but horses are healing my broken heart. After riding, I experience pure joy, the kind of joy that lasts.”

“From the moment I drive in to Starbrite, it feels like a million pounds have been lifted off my shoulders. A friend of mine recently took his own life and it was a really rough stretch for me. Coming to the barn, talking to the people at Starbrite, and bonding with my horse brought me a lasting calm that is hard to explain.”

-Matt, Veteran Rider
